Laser Surgeries

Laser Surgeries

Hemorrhoids, polyps and anal fissures are very common conditions among the population. In many cases, they cause very uncomfortable and embarrassing symptoms that turn patients to a medical specialist in search of quick and effective solutions that reduce pain and improve their quality of life.

Common Conditions Treated:

  • Hemorrhoidectomy procedures
  • Anal fissure and ectropion coagulation
  • Anal fissure excision
  • Anal stenosis ablation
  • Pilonidal cyst / sinus
  • Condyloma
  • Polyposis of colon
  • Villous adenoma
  • Acquired and congenital fistula and tumor

Hemorrhoids (Piles)

The use of lasers makes it possible to treat the vascular component of hemorrhoids with high precision. The procedure is performed without perianal skin resection, so postoperative pain is less than conventional techniques. The laser's energy allows to coagulate (close) the arteries that nourish the hemorrhoids and at the same time to destroy the abnormal hemorrhoidal tissue.

  • Laser Advantages: Accuracy in cutting/coagulation, shorter/less painful postoperative recovery, quick return to usual activities, outpatient basis.

Fistula

A laser fiber with circumferential emission allows to destroy the fistulous tract without damaging the anal sphincter. Laser ablation is among the sphincter preserving techniques for the treatment of anal fistulas, of special value in patients with a high risk of incontinence such as women, complex fistulas or patients with incontinence.

  • Laser Advantages: Preservative technique of the anal sphincter (no risk of incontinence), exclusive destruction of the fistulous tract, less postoperative pain, optimal aesthetic result.

Fissure

Chronic anal fissure is a wound in the anus that presents with severe pain and bleeding. The spasm of the anal sphincter intervenes in its formation and persistence. The treatment of the fissure consists in the removal of it and in the partial section of the anal sphincter. The laser offers the possibility of performing an accurate section, guided by ultrasound, minimizing the risks of surgery.

  • Laser Advantages: Precise cutting and coagulation, controlled section of the anal sphincter.

Pilonidal Sinus

A pilonidal sinus (PNS) is a small hole or tunnel in the skin. It may fill with fluid or pus, causing the formation of a cyst or abscess. It occurs in the cleft at the top of the buttocks. A pilonidal cyst usually contains hair, dirt, and debris. It can cause severe pain and can often become infected.

Varicose Veins (EVLT)

Varicose veins are swollen, twisted veins that lie just under the skin and usually occur in the legs. They are caused by weak or damaged vein walls and valves. If swelling, aching, and painful legs result, treatment like Endo-Venous Laser Therapy (EVLT) is highly effective and minimally invasive.
